About this talk. In this 42-minute closing session from the first Śākyamūni Buddha retreat in Taiwan (June 2005), Lama Zopa Rinpoche celebrates the practitioners’ accomplishment, emphasizing how each meditation session purifies thousands of eons of negative karma and obstacles to liberation. He urges them to rejoice in the extraordinary merit accumulated through the retreat. He then offers a pointed reflection: practitioners typically dedicate their lives to creating causes of suffering through non-virtuous actions pursued for temporary happiness, yet true dedication should direct this same energy toward dharma practice and ultimate liberation. The teaching movingly juxtaposes the joy of spiritual accomplishment with a clear-eyed reorientation of daily motivation. For practitioners already grounded in bodhicitta and the Lam Rim path.

And the two time it is called. May I become like you in all the lifetimes, by having the same qualities as you have. By having done this practice, may I and all sentient beings obviously benefit, and may those who develop the bodhicitta find liberation. And also, maybe meet here and complete, like, Lam Rim teachings pervade the universe with. Extend this for this this for others.

And you have the two stages, which is the essence of the path. So we request to have realization as the foundation of all good qualities. A request to have realization of the path. Then you have the prayer. You can do that.

May I myself or family and all the all sentient beings may be always guided by the guru in all the future lifetimes, never to be separated from the path that which pleases all the Buddhas. To be able to see only enlightened being from and to be able to to do all that is most pleasing to the guru and to do to be able to which is the virtuous activity by his name, outside in all of his lifetime. So here are the dedication prayers. Some you can use the same thing. The end of the.

You can do the same chanting here. So okay. Try to dedicate. So So thanks, everyone. Thank you very much for coming to the retreat.

This is the first time here in Taiwan. There was a similar retreat done in Hong Kong just before this. I think maybe two days or something. Two or three days. I’m not sure.

Within two days. Two two days, I think. And this is this is here, this is the first time. So thank you very much to to everyone who came for the retreat. Yeah.

With the time for the retreat. So as you can recognize, did so many retreats even by by doing once, you know, purified many thousands, many many thousands, many thousands of eons of negative karma. So there’s so many times, you know, each session like that. So just even that each session doing that is unbelievable. You see, so so many eons of negative karma purified, obstacle for realizations purified, for success, including this life.

And and should be happening, which is like liberation. There’s so much obstacles purified. And so so rejoice of that. And then collected unbelievable merit. Each time we rejoice, we accumulate merit so many times with each practice.

And each time we put the bodhicitta, practice it for. Each time, with each visualization and recitation of the mantra, we accumulate merit. So the name mantra, the recitation of the mantra. So it’s very powerful for success. So the plan is to see the whole path of enlightenment.

You know? So met with all those various practices, our mind closer to realization, to liberation enlightenment. So that so rejoice. So so We we we dedicate our life, you see, for sufferings to to to, we dedicate our life to creating a cause of suffering from the very beginning, I say, but we we set ourselves up to create the cause of suffering, for non-virtuous actions, for the for the happiness of this life. For meaningless work, we set up our life.

We have so much hardship. Is it let’s see. For non virtuous action, even the cost of lodging is so we’ll be much. I think that is from beginning of the birth. We did that in those times.

So this thinking is mistaken. We bring hardships to practice Dharma. We bring hardships to achieve happiness in this life, not just liberation, sometimes especially for the temporary and ultimate goals. We bring hardships.
