About this talk. In this 100-minute teaching, Lama Zopa Rinpoche contrasts the outcomes of worldly pursuits with earnest Dharma practice. He reframes hardship in practice—lack of sleep, physical difficulty, discomfort—as purification of negative karma accumulated over lifetimes, transforming obstacles into causes of liberation. Samsaric work, he explains, appears pleasant now but leads only to future suffering; Dharma practice is difficult now but generates lasting happiness, liberation, and enlightenment. The latter half covers practical applications: specific mantras and rituals for the dying and deceased. He details the Namgyalma mantra for purification and long life, the mantra of five deities, and practices for liberating consciousness from lower realms through blessed water, mantras, and mustard seeds.

For for for bring a heart to practice Dharma, to create, bring a heart to create a cause of happiness. So so there’s big huge differences. Even one day, even one day by doing, even one day by doing hardship to do Dharma. It’s been so worthwhile.
And because we’ve done a number of times being hardship to, you know, suffer, to create a cause of saṃsāra, cause of the. But I’m not the but not that many people have hardships back to Dharma, especially achieving life in the present. Doing hardship, it should benefit a lot of others. So this we treat whatever hardship and no sleep, or the say, you know, pain, whatever hardship happen this journey. It’s a it’s a it’s a purification.
It’s all purification. Purifying so many past, many karmas, many lifetime, many even karma. So once you recognize this, one should rejoice. So it’s a so it is something that so it is something that need to be done. So it’s a it is it is it.
It so the being has to do whatever, no sleep or whatever is pain or tiredness. It’s a it it actually has a pleasure because this way this way, you don’t you don’t get to be born in the lower realms. It’s been suffering for many eons. So those you don’t have to suffer. So many karma purified by being hardship to practice Dharma.
So quicker to achieve it. As they become quicker, easier as they close to achieve. So like that. So so well, saṃsāra’s side of pleasure, then you see saṃsāra’s side of pleasure, say, then it is now suffering, future suffering. Now suffering, future suffering.
Said, both suffering. Or the future, long run future no good, only suffering. And now suffering. They’re working for saṃsāra’s side is like this. Working for this type, working for saṃsāra’s side.
And now looks pleasant. Now looks pleasant, but long run future, endless suffering. So that’s if you have some kind of work, it’s just for this life, a minute’s work for this life. So it’s like that. Look at the press at the moment, appeared to pleasure, but it has long run.
You see, endless suffering. So the now dharma, happy happy now and long run future happiness. One has to be a hardship now. What one has to be a hardship now. It’s been difficult now, but it has very good future.
You see, a long run. You see, happiness, greater and greater happiness, you know, liberation and enlightenment. So you see, that’s the future. So long run, there’s there’s a incredible good future for Dharma, very harsh in practice. So now difficult to live with.
You see? But as a long run, you see, we have a good future. So if I understand, then one can rejoice. One rejoice. If I if I can realize this, one can rejoice.
So, so I would like to thank you very much. Monica, as I asked her to prepare for the Compassion Center. And even though, you know, busy and so she kindly accepted. So thank you very much for the in in the most difficult time, the preparations in the most difficult time to accept the to build.
And then then as a a many as a many time, the many people unanimously, unanimously in one voice, unanimously, just for the occasion. She she, yeah, come up very good, so and she kindly accepted. So I want to thank you very much. What’s this? What kind of brochure?
Picture. Yes. So this is good for if you do a to, you know, search to get some idea of visualization. But this, you know, all the different practices, tsunami time, the prayers for when there are earthquakes or something.
Mhmm. This is for people, prayers for people who die. Mhmm. This is this is all English. English.
Is it useful? Is it benefit to be? To give people? Yeah. It’s a benefit because it’s all English.
The teacher will be beneficial. Mantra may be difficult for them. I think people like it. So they must be printed by the Hong Kong center, I think. I have an estimate.
Roger said. Roger said. Oh, you’re leading to. So leading to printed this. It’s a prayer that I suggest during tsunami that to stop earthquakes, you know, to pray.
This I think a long time ago, Taiwan also, but one. But it is not in English not in Chinese. It’s all English. This is people who died to very powerful to liberate from the lower realms, mantra there. And this is a standard practice that if you recite thirty, thirty, if you recite thirty, thirty-two times from the dead, then the being who was born in the lower realms liberates.
It’s a very powerful mantra. This is Namgyalma mantra, long life, very powerful for purification. Another one very powerful to liberate people who died, you know. There is the Stūpa of the Pinnacle. Oh, and another powerful mantra.
What the five powerful mantras, five power five deities who are for purification, their mantras is one of them. So it’s unbelievable benefit. So this all I wanna this all the when a person died to liberate from the lower realms, to purify the karma, bless the water, or when in jangswa, these these five mantras, these are the sort of the main ones that are used to bless the mustard seed or the different things to purify the person who died. So you hook the do the meditation, hook the consciousness of the person, then you with this, you bless these different materials, you purify them. So this this is the main mantra for purification for in janghwa.
So there this is the stupa. Then there’s Mitrugpa. There’s Mitrugpa. Yeah. Mitrugpa.
For this, one time, the consciousness is liberated from the lower realms. Liberation too, she may take this, a copy of the certificate to give. One of things that’s not not in Chinese. Okay. Okay.
Alright. So everybody Yes. Yes. She says she took Yamāntaka initiation. Oh, nice.
With that? Yeah. She should do the retreat. Private. Okay.
So so that’s it. Just explain the one thing that the one thing that I have for from the. That purifies. The last part, the last part.. Thank you. What is she saying?
