About this talk. In this 46-minute commentary, Kyabje Rinpoche teaches advanced Vajrayoginī practitioners how to gather winds and drops into the central channel at the navel and heart to generate unified great bliss and emptiness. He begins with visualization instruction: using a RAM syllable to purify all imperfections in the channels. He then establishes a core doctrine—emptiness realized without compassion and method (great bliss) cannot liberate; compassion without wisdom cannot escape cyclic existence either. Only both together work: wisdom realizing emptiness in the very nature of blissful mind. He details the three phases of gathering the winds (entering, abiding, dissolving) and the signs of each, then closes with personal reflection on why Vajrayoginī is his principal practice, including a vivid vision of a dakini appearing and calling to him. For practitioners who have received Vajrayoginī initiation.

From the light, radiate from the, the RAM syllable and pervade, or in all the entire channels. And due to this, visualize that all the imperfections and the faults of the entire channels being purified and hold that meditation and repeat seven times. And then, by this, by purifying all the entire channel has been purified and then after that all all the then all the entire, yeah, all the pure purified drops passes through the channels and gathers at the And then, yeah, so all the drops passes, upper drops process through the three channels process through the three channels and gathers at the central channel which is at the navel. So and also, yeah and also the all the purified pure lower drops are gathers at the center channel. Also the drops in the right and left channels are dissolved or gathers at the heart center channel.
So it’s a I mean, I asked this question, but the the the seems like you are lost with the saying the central channel where is it at what either it’s at the heart or a navel. So here, the central channel is the central channel. It’s not not the navel or the heart, that’s the central channel. So which means all the entire, the upper and lower drops and drops in the side channels as well being gathered at the central channel means which we can imagine they’re all being pooled at both the navel and the heart. So it’s in the central channel.
So by central channel is central channel. So and by gathering the all the entire blisses or the drops into the central channel and which forms the forms the drop like mercury-colored and by this one imagine one attains the strong feeling of great, the great bliss. And then that mind of great bliss realizes the emptiness and about through this one being being on being being one should Yes. So one one being on a meditation on emptiness for being on a meditation on emptiness and repeat this meditation about seven seven times. The the master Nāgārjuna’s teacher Tilopa Saraha has set forth, has said that. The great Indian lama, Tilopa Saraha, who was the teacher of Nāgārjuna.
Nāgārjuna said that meditation, yeah, meditating on emptiness without, without, without, without compassion, then one will, if one does that meditation, meditation on emptiness without compassion, one will not attain the perfect path of the most supreme path of the secret teachings, tantric teachings. And also said for if one meditates only on the compassion, here the compassion refers towards the method which is the great bliss. So and if one meditate if one if one meditate only on that compassion then one will not attain. One will one will one will one will still one will still circle in the cyclic existence. So by combining doing a meditation with the com by combining those two together, the wisdom and method which is the compassion and the emptiness, then that person who does perform such meditation will not remain in cyclic existence nor neither in the nirvana which means the solitary peace of those, the arhats of the lower vehicles which means that that person will attain enlightenment, become enlightened.
So here the method and the bliss, the great bliss which is compassion set forth. And by just by being on that meditation if one does not that great bliss, mind of great bliss does not realize the emptiness then one will not be free from cyclic existence. One will still circle circles in the cyclic existence. And and without without that and if realizing or meditating on that emptiness without that are the without that method compassion which is great bliss, then which is so that wisdom realizing emptiness in the lower vehicles as well as in the perfection vehicles. Those realizing emptiness will not be will not be conjoined or will converted into the into the great bliss.
So due to that one cannot attain the secret the secret parts of the secret tantric teaching. So means so here they refer to us that one will not attain the wisdom of great bliss and emptiness. Emptiness comes from the gathering of the drops. The bliss which becomes a cause for attainment of the form body that The form body and that emptiness will attain the the achieve the dharmakaya or wisdom body. So that wisdom that mind of great bliss should realize the emptiness and that become the wisdom realizing emptiness is in the nature of great bliss.
So by gathering the bliss and emptiness, attaining the wisdom of non dual bliss and emptiness and through this one attains the union of body and mind. And without gathering, combining those, converting that, without that wisdom, the mind of great bliss realizing emptiness, that wisdom realizing emptiness in the nature of great bliss, then one will not. Not by without combining those two, one will not attain the state of union. So from the beginning penetrating at the navel and collecting the wind and the mind channel into the central channel at the navel and whenever one is able to collect the wind and mind at that central channel at the navel one attains the illusory body described in the Guhyasamāja Tantra. So now to gather the wind wind and mind into the central channel first there are three periods the entering abiding and dissolving into the central channel.
So first the entering is that the sign of having entered the wind and mind into the central channel is that that occurs after the eight yeah, dissolution and death processes from all appearances. So the sign of having entered the wind into the central channel is that through the power of meditation whenever one gains the movement of the breathing at both nostrils are equal at the same time which is the sign of the wind have entered the central channel. And the sign of having abided in the central channel is that whenever one has the the signs like this: movement of the belly or abdomen — these are the sign that my wind has been entered, abide into central channel. And then the dissolving sign is that occurrence of the dissolution processes, those occurrences until the the consciousness dissolve into the clear light. And then whenever one wants to end one’s meditation session period, then while doing this meditation during this time one has dissolved all the body mandala.
So now at this time one again visualize the body mandala and then have the So when one so one should end the meditation session and enter into the between meditation session is that so during this meditation one has dissolved all the body mandala so one again before ending one session again visualize the body mandala once and then dissolve it back again and then enters into the and ends one’s meditation session. So and now due to the second subdivision which is having centralized inner winds and how meditate is that so having entered by entering the wind into the central channel one attains the bliss. Right. And then abiding into central channel one attains the emptiness, and through this the emptiness, and attains the rainbow body. Now I’m reading the beginning of the text for the dedication.
We finished the text of the teaching and then traditionally recite the few lines of the text just for Yeah. Unfortunately, we have we haven’t got much time to we cannot take too much I mean, a time to to go very detail of the text because because we are we don’t really have a long time. Whereas, for this teaching, when when when when Doctor Tenzin Shyam gave this teaching, he gave this teaching for about one month every day and started at one 1PM till 5PM and and been giving very detail. But so as time is running out, we are I am not able to give very detailed explanations, but I hope that it will become like a like a like a foundation or basis so that by using it as a basis and stirring and doing a more advanced study on it, and I’m sure you will progress. So and this teaching comes from the the the request of Geshe Geshe Pema Tsering from New Zealand, Dorje Shugden Institute, and also requested by his student, Mewa.
And so by their request, and I feel very I accept that because I I have I feel that it’s very fortunate to have this opportunity again to read read these texts and give the teaching of these texts. So and so we so yeah. We’ve been able to I’ve been able to give these teachings, but the request. And I and I’m the teach we we haven’t get time to go that detail, and but I hope that everyone has get some sort of some some knowledge. We have gained some knowledge from listening, receiving these teachings.
And and for myself, that I feel very fortunate to have to give these teachings and perform these practices and and to to to to give some give the give such teachings and perform such practices and and and and and have done my best to I have done done my best to give the teachings. And as well as by giving these teachings, and I I I have also gained many knowledge and and gained knowledge and left positive imprints. Vajrayoginī is my principal or the main practices. And when I have asked my root guru, because because I I do the sādhana practice of solitary hero Yamāntaka, and also the thirteen deity Yamāntaka and the Vajrayoginī every day. And But cannot Does not have time to go through the long sādhana or texts of the Sadhana of Guhyasamāja, Chakrasamvara Tantra, so forth.
And have approached approached and asked my root guru, which one should I put it in main practice? And he, Doctor Tenzin Shyam, without any hesitation, said: practice Vajrayoginī, practice Vajrayoginī. And it seems like just listening to his answer, is something unique or characteristic or or, yeah, is there. So due to that, I I took my root guru’s word and put this Vajrayoginī as the main practice, and he’ll have done the riches and so forth.
And once the His Holiness the Dalai Lama asked me, why are you keeping the Vajrayoginī as your main practice? It’s such a traditional practice. And and I and and they are told, no. It was my root guru’s choice that that that I so yeah. Choice.
And I put it. And His Holiness said, that’s it’s very good listening to you, root guru. So I have performed the two years retreat of Vajrayoginī. And also, I’m very happy and pleased to put putting these Vajrayoginī practices as a principal practice or main practice because the Vajrayoginī practice has very When you do the ritual practices of Vajrayoginī, it has not like a long text or long version like others. It’s very easy and perform.
And then and have received this the Damcho Lama initiation from Chakra Rinpoche and Dorje Chang at the Ganden Monastery. Since then, I have also practiced the body mandala of the Dantapurva system. So I have I am not I’m not a scholar. I don’t really know much, but if one does practice this, this, but I have to practice, it is not that I’m a great practitioner or I’m a great scholar. It is because, maybe it is because of my belief and respect and faith in the practices of Vajrayoginī.
And due to that, I mean, I have there is there is a I have lots of signs like the different different different dreams, which shows the signs signs of practicing the Vajrayoginī, and signs like purifying the negativities and so forth. And this happens, and so if and so this happens because of having strong faith and belief in my practice is not because of my, qualification. So if one has the very strong and good faith, there is chances of gaining signs of practicing such So I have during all this, I have those signs during the during the, retreats, and many have signs. And if I tell one sign here, then once yeah. I’ll I mean, around 3AM in the morning, and and I wasn’t sleeping, and had a dream that in my dream, I was dream was a very wide street or like a national highway and empty.
And was walking on the left side of the highway. And then it was only me. And then later I saw a lady was lying on the ground, and looks very, very weak, a very weak lady, and and like feeling cold and got haven’t got much clothes, only a very thin Indian material like a sari, white sari one. And looks shaking her body and feels so so sad and then thinking I should do something for her and put some yeah. Should do something for her, but but cannot do anything.
I just but I didn’t. But passed the lady straight away. And and just and just afterwards, just then I looked back and saw that lady. She just she wasn’t lying. She was already standing and running after me.
And that and now she was changed and and looking very furious. And her breasts are down and then chasing after me. And I was so scared and I ran, escaped and saw and saw a house saw a house at the left, thinking that I should enter that house and escape from her. And as soon as I reached the house, I turned back, and she was already there behind me. And then telling me, calling my name, do you wanna go to the Dakini lands?
