About this talk. In this 35-minute Medicine Buddha empowerment, Kyabje Rinpoche guides practitioners through receiving blessings via four colored nectars descending from the Buddha. White nectar purifies disease and suffering; yellow increases knowledge and extends lifespan; red brings wealth and companionship; black removes obstacles caused by harmful spirits. He then walks through visualization practice—generating oneself as Medicine Buddha, reciting the mantra, and understanding its meaning: homage to the great destroying doctor, the medicine king, the perfected being. The session concludes with guidance on establishing a daily recitation commitment—ideally 21 times daily or more, minimally three times. Pitched at those receiving the empowerment.

Make a very, very good supplication or praise to his main Buddha. So, as we said that the main Buddha, Bhaiṣajyaguru, Guru has made the twelve great or performed prayers in the past, and we are requesting him to grant all those prayers he made to us, and which the prayers are very, very profound, and it’s been exactly what we need, which are very good to overcome all the negativities and attain the good qualities. So, by making these supplications, what have been saying or you were saying is that you made all those profound prayers which are to help the beings, sentient beings especially the beings of the degenerate age. So now here we are the people, beings of the degenerate age, and we need the benefits, or we need the prayers, blessings from the prayers which we have made, and requesting him to grant you, grant me, or grant grant us the blessings by making this supplication. Now imagine all Buddhas are have been saying, yes, yes, yes, and imagine at this time, he is and you have received the blessings from them.

Very good, very good. Yes, yes, yes. Buddha’s giving you the blessings by saying that, of course I will, yes, and I have been waiting to give you, pass you all the blessings or to give it to you, but but you had never requested earlier. So now today, it’s very good, so I’ll give it to you. So by making requests or such prayers to the Buddhist, they have agreed and willingly to give you what you have asked and give you blessings.

And the way of giving the blessings and doing the activities that have been performed in the way of giving is the four ways: through peace, increase, power, and violence or wrathful, which means So how he gives the blessings, it is done through the four deeds. But so by making supplication, because first comes what the white nectar or the blessings descends from the medicine Buddha, which enters your body, and that white nectar cleans one’s body and purifies all the sufferings, disease, sickness, so forth. Then after that, the second deed comes the yellow nectar, or yellow light enters your body from the Medicine Buddha, which helps to increase one’s knowledge or realizations of the paths and grounds and lengthens one’s lifespan. And then the third comes the red light, which enters your body from the Buddha, and which provides or helps ones to have the access to wealth and have companionship. And the fourth one comes the light, black light or nectar enters into your body, which purifies all the obstacles or hindrances caused or caused from the evil spirits.

Imagine that by making the supplication, all the lights or the nectar in the color of white, yellow, red, and black dissolve or descends like rain from heart of medicine Buddha, The blue Om syllable at the heart of Medicine Buddha, which enters your body and through enters from one’s crown aperture from one’s crown and filled up from one’s toes and fills one’s body with the nectar and through the power of this one, the obstacles, hindrances, the diseases and obscurations are being purified. Once you have attained the crystal or a glass like body, which is very clear and pure. And through the power of those dissolutions of the the dissolution of the nectar in various color, and at this stage, by dissolving that nectars, one who has received any initiations of any of the initiations of action tantra, action tantra, yoga tantra, Highest Yoga Tantra can visualize or imagine that that one’s body, speech, and mind becomes one with the body, speech, and mind of the medicine Buddha, that means that one has one one has become one with medicine Buddha and being inseparable, which means one has totally generated oneself as medicine Buddha.

And one who hasn’t received any of those initiation should not dissolve, or the medicine Buddha are within oneself, or do not develop oneself as inseparable with is inseparable one with medicine Buddha. So, those one who have who have received any of those initiations can dissolve the medicine Buddha within oneself and develop oneself as a medicine Buddha. By doing this, one who has done this has become already become a monk’s form because you have become a medicine Buddha, and the Medicine Buddha is a monk, mainly blue in color.

And so by doing this visualization, and now you have generated those you have generated dissolved the medicine Buddha within you and become, you have become a medicine Buddha in the gesture of the right hand holding a medicinal tree and the left hand holding a begging bowl and wearing three types of monk’s robe. And at the heart sits, at the heart, upon the lotus locates or sits the blue Om syllable. Nice. And, the right and left side of you, the Medicine Buddha, are Bodhisattvas are radiant radiant as, or like a moon, and the Bodhisattvas are radiant as a sun. So, and now, and you have visualized one’s Guru in the nature of Medicine Buddha in front of you, and visualize that the Guru has invited all the from the heart of the Guru comes a light, which passes entire directions all the which comes a lot from the guru’s heart, and invites all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the 10 directions.

And by inviting them, they dissolve into and those Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the 10 directions dissolve into the blue Om syllable at your heart. And nice. So, and, and, and by dissolving, yes, and then visualise that one’s crown is the Om syllable, one’s throat is the Ah syllable, and the heart is the Hum syllable. So, yeah, and those who have received any of those initiations can visualize oneself as a Medicine Buddha. And those who haven’t received any initiations can maintain one’s visualizations towards the Medicine Buddha, which has been visualized upon one’s crown.

Right? So, by having developed oneself as a Medicine Buddha, and in the front of you, you have visualized one’s Guru who is who is who is been inseparable, one with the Medicine Buddha, at heart, at his heart is the Om syllable, which is surrounded by the the mantra of medicine Buddha. And and imagine that now, so that that mantra that mantra comes out of comes out from the guru’s mouth and which enters into enters from your mouth and stays or at and sits in the circle and stays rounded or circle at the Hum syllable at one’s heart, the blue Hum syllable at your heart. So now with the with this visualization, repeat this. No.

Guru. Guru. The first recitation of the mantra is receiving the blessings. And second recitation, which is mixing once as it becomes dissolving that mantra within one’s heart, through the third which becomes stable, steady or stable, very firm. I said, Doctors.

The meaning the the meaning of the meaning of the mantra is is the the homage, and Bhagavati, the great destroyer.

Yeah. No. Bhagavan is great destroyer, and and Bhagavan is the doctor. Guru Lama. Guru is is the guru or lama.

Bhaishajye is the medicine. The blue light. Rāja is the medicine king, medicinal king, and Tathāgata is those who have gone beyond.

Liberated beings. Samyaksambuddha, as one who is a perfect Buddha. It’s a perfect Buddha. And Tayata, that is likewise, or so forth. Then they say,

Yeah, so with Tayata means this is the saying that this is the mantra of Medicine Buddha. Destroyer, or the arhat. Of them the perfect Buddha or perfect superior being. Svāhā, please accept. Svāhā, please So we have distributed a little rice to each one, which the rice symbolizes the flower.

So, So here you are So, here you are spreading the rice towards the guru, saying thanks for giving the very profound oral transmission of this mantra. So, here you are doing your practices of distilling the blessings and the nectar from the medicine Buddha. And the best way of extracting the nectar or receiving blessings is the method, the best method is by reciting the mantra or medicine Buddha. So here is the time to make a commitment that how one is going to, how how recites, how many times one recites the mantra. And it is not compulsory to make commitments here.

And it would be good if one can make a commitment because when one makes the commitments, one is forced to do or one is forced to recite the mantra. If one does not make any commitments, then one will recite the mantras when one wants to, and one will never if one doesn’t want to, one will never recite the mantra. So that is the benefit of committing, or making commitment. So for the best, you can make a commitment to recite the Medicine Buddha mantra 21, more than 21 times a day. And if not, then one can make the commitment of reciting 21 times a day or seven times a day, and the minimum is three times a day.

So, you want to make any commitment, you can make imagination within yourself.
