About this talk. Ven Thubten Dondrub opens this 3-minute introduction to emptiness wisdom by setting the essential groundwork for meaningful Dharma study. He guides students to cultivate a strong positive motivation rooted in bodhicitta — the determination to free oneself and all sentient beings from suffering and delusion. He emphasizes the importance of refuge in the Triple Gem as the foundation for recognizing our Buddha potential and our deep debt of gratitude to all mother sentient beings who have shown us boundless kindness. This brief teaching is aimed at practitioners beginning a module on the wisdom of emptiness and establishes the compassionate, intentional frame necessary for genuine practice.
