About this talk. In this 39-minute meditation, Ven Jamyang teaches a healing practice rooted in Buddhist philosophy. After settling into posture and breath awareness, he introduces the illusion of a fixed “I”—showing how “I am sitting” is a label layered onto an impermanent body and mind. He then explains the nature of mind as spacious, like sky with clouds, where thoughts and feelings naturally arise and pass. He guides listeners to identify a limiting belief, visualize it as a cloud, step back from it, locate where it feels stuck in the body, and investigate it closely. Using a white healing light that dissolves blockages while recognizing inner goodness, participants transform the limiting belief and extend this light throughout their whole body.

You can put your hands on your lap. Your jaws are relaxed, and your tongue is touching the palate. And then be aware that you’re sitting. And although we say I’m sitting, Try to feel that there is actually no I who is doing the action of sitting. It’s your body that is in a certain posture that we label sitting.

And because we identify with that body and mind, we call it I’m sitting. But that I is just a label. It’s not as strong, as big as it appears to exist. And some meditators they say, There is no I sitting. There is just sitting.

And maybe you feel uncomfortable if you start feeling that. Maybe you feel if that’s not me, then who is sitting? Or do I still exist? Am I still in control? But the only thing that you let go of when you say sitting instead of I am sitting is a false projection.

You’re not letting go of anything that is real. If the eye is really the one who is doing the sitting, you can’t get rid of it no matter how hard you try. So even if you let it go, if it’s really there, it will stay there. But if it’s actually not there and you let it go, then it will go because it was an illusion, a fantasy. And sometimes you repeat a word sitting, and you recall what I just said.

And then focus on your stomach where you can observe the rising and the falling of your abdomen. Every time when you breathe in, your abdomen rises. And when you breathe out, your abdomen falls. Let your mind rest on the movements. And while you rest your mind on the movements of your abdomen, Call to mind the nature of our mind.

And I’ve mentioned that very briefly, that the mind is like space. It’s like space in which many thoughts, feelings, emotions arise. In every moment of mind, there is an experience, and that experience leads to the next moment of mind and can lead to our actions. It’s the source of our actions. So because the nature of the mind is like space, anything can arise in the mind, and anything can disappear out of the mind.

Thoughts and feelings and emotions are like bubbles surfacing in the ocean. Or sometimes they use the analogy where the mind is compared with the blue and the vastness of the mind with the vastness of the sky. And in the sky, clouds appear. And every thought, every feeling, every emotion is like a cloud. When we hang on to the clouds, it’s very difficult for the clouds to move in the natural way.

It’s like they can’t disappear. If we were we would be able to let go, then naturally that cloud would disappear because every cloud is impermanent, which means that it cannot sustain itself. It has no power in and of itself. Comes into existence due to causes and conditions and naturally it will cease. So if we want to go to a mind that allows thoughts and feelings and beliefs to come and go, one thing that can be helpful is to step back, to identify with the spacious aspect of the mind.

And imagine that you become that space. From that space, you observe the clouds coming and going. And on one of the clouds that comes and goes is written your belief. Your belief that you hold on to, that limits you, and without it, your life would be so much easier. So if you see the cloud with your belief on it, step back.

Make sure that you step back. Make sure that you see that you are not the cloud. And contemplate the disadvantages of holding on to that cloud, your limiting beliefs. If the cloud has been there for a long, long, long, long time, that’s not a valid reason for it not to be able to go. Recall the freedom, the benefit of letting go, and step back from it. Create space between you and the cloud.

And then go to that space in your mind where you still feel that you hold on to the belief. Feel where that is located in your body. Feel where your energy gets blocked, where you’re stuck. Move towards that place. And you can imagine or pretend that you’re looking through a microscope, and you’re closer and closer and closer to the very beginning of that feeling, of that belief.

Like a surgeon. And you keep on looking until you find the structure or the blockage that you feel your limiting beliefs are coming from. And focus on it very strongly. The stronger we can focus, the more we can see the real nature of that blockage. How does it look like?

What shape does it have? Is it a form? Is it a visual thing? Or maybe it’s something that you feel. How does it feel like?

What is its structure? Does it have a color? Does it have a sound? Try to investigate it and see as many features as possible. So that you have a really good image of that blockage, the belief that limits you so much.

And you can think, alright. This shape is blocking. How can I change the shape so that it doesn’t block, so that the energy starts moving? And imagine that the shape really changes. How do I need to change colour so that it helps me to gain freedom?

What structure would help in relaxing more, enjoying life more. And try to shape that image in a way that you can let go of that old image, that old belief. Changed, remove yourself from it. And again, identify with the spacious aspect of the mind. And let whatever you created, put it on a cloud and let it go.

And check what has changed inside. And maybe you have the feeling, well, it’s almost gone, but there is still something, there’s still a kind of a smell or some leftovers. So if that’s the case, But imagine that above your head there’s a very powerful white healing light. That light is always there. We can always access it.

And you can imagine that it enters your crown And then sink through your central channel to the place where you felt blocked before. And in that light it looks like everything that felt like concrete, hard, permanent, just dissolves. Maybe it’s because of the heat. Maybe it’s because of the nature of the light. The nature of the light is pure compassion.

This complete understanding of who you are, who you really are. That healing light recognizes your goodness. Your goodness is something that has been there from the beginning, and it will never ever leave you. No matter what others say about us, think about us, how they judge us, that inner goodness can never go. Even if nobody nobody sees it, it’s still there.

You can see it. And then you can maybe feel that white light spreads around. It’s not just touching the place where the hurt was. It’s filling your whole body. Every cell in your body gets activated, gets recognized, gets energized, comes full of white light, vibrating.

And clouded in that white energy, no cloud can remain. There is no need for thoughts. There is no need for reactions. We are content with who we are, with what we have, with what our life brings to us. Try to stay in that feeling for as long as you can.

And then imagine how it would be if we would live our life like this. How would it be for ourselves? How would I change the relationship that we have with ourselves? And how would it affect our relationship with others? And then try to formulate a conclusion to this meditation for yourself.

And then what we do in Buddhism is we dedicate the merits. We can do that by thinking that whatever positive action that we have done today, whatever merit that we created. May that be of benefit to all by contributing to their peace, to the health, their well-being. And if you feel ready, you can slowly come back to the body to sitting. And opening your eyes.
