About this talk. In this 122-minute teaching in Chinese, Lama Zopa Rinpoche guides practitioners through foundational Lamrim meditation and liturgical practices. He begins with detailed instructions on making offerings—visualizing blessings and transforming all offerings at Buddhist centers worldwide into infinite skies of light and water. He then turns to a sustained meditation on the Eight Freedoms and Ten Richnesses, walking practitioners through vivid reflections on suffering in the lower realms—the torments of hell beings, hungry ghosts, and animals—and the rarity of being born with all conditions intact: a time and place where teachings flourish, intact faculties, faith in Dharma, a qualified guru, and outer means for practice. This foundational teaching strengthens determination for practice.

In Chinese. Okay. Yeah. That can that can be read three times. Each one read in Chinese three times.

So maybe you can follow the same tune. The Buddhism Chinese. A must is a full enlightenment. For the sentient beings, mother sentient beings who are equally in the limitless sky, whom whom I receive all my power, present, future happiness, who’s who’s the most precious, most kind in my life. Therefore, I’m going to say meditation recitation for the.

If you cannot find the session after twenty days, then there’s one book, One covers in the yellow. Yellow. One book. Not cover. Doesn’t cover.

It’s a text. The text. The it’s not three pencils apart. Lamrim text. It does not it’s a no cover.

No cover. Yeah. Just this this just about this. Just a Lamrim text. Yeah.

It tight or? It has tight or? Yeah. Not that, but not the typical. So so you can be said in the so all the.

See that. Going to the practice. So so yeah. So we do the We do the purifying place, with and then the blessed offerings, we do that. The first seven.

Blessing the offerings. Okay. So read the read the Chinese purifying place. Yeah. Read the Chinese purifying place.

The next, the offering. Little offering in Chinese. So bless the offerings. Not only here, all the lights here. And then all the extensive offering, there was in the FPMT center Kopan.

All the offerings up to south. All the flowers outside inside. Then all many thousand light offerings as well as all the water offerings, many hundreds of water offerings, and then the the the center. All the flowers outside and then all the ceremonial or hundreds of water offerings inside and many thousands of light offerings. So bless bless all this.

So when you chant the mantra, think of all these offerings and bless think of being blessed. Also, they didn’t choose a house in the Malaysia, or upstairs, or all the offering there, and the Singapore Dorje Chang House are upstairs all the offerings. They they perform that to my offering, so so we can make offering. Each offering in bliss light. They receive skies of offering, so I think.

So it’s so it’s at the same time, also, a lot of blessing, but it’s also they all receive taste of offering. So also that thing each of the each of them, the guru, the virtuous friend, and then that So it’s just off offered. Well, a lot of blessing, but they all get taste of offering. So we do a invocation. Those they did in the Chinese, the the prayer invocation.

Read or write. So number number is one’s body. Other date, the life has an amgenic like that or they have ordinary human body. Where, say, like a ridge of mountains, what is the ordinary human body or the deities body on the body. Prostrating from the four directions, covered whole earth from the four directions, corners, twist of twist of Buddhist the the the the the the the the the all the all the.

Then all all the all the all the statues here, all the all the the statues here, that. And I think physically, you put palms together like this, but mentally, you should do meditation, meditation. I’m offering the actual so the prostrations and the prostrations respectively with three doors. And then the offering here, a limited offering, the the mental transform, the next we perform to offerings. So it can take a whole, say, sky.

The air this is the actual offering of sixteen types of enjoyment of the those offerings or the sixteen types of offerings to the gods and goddesses. The mental transforms please my heart. So the so so that’s there should be the same or other offerings as well. Mental transforms. They care about dakini goddesses.

So how you fill the whole sky? So now we offer the extra performed ones in the all the offerings here, all the offerings there, you know, the Buddha House Kopan, there was nature in the clear place, and the other offerings up to south, under Washington, all of the offerings, and offerings at Losang House, then the house of the owner. So we offer to Sangha. Sangha is all group, the centers are just mentioned. Over all the offerings here, all the lights and the ceiling.

So here we can all open. You didn’t offer also the fence. You wish. If like so much. Anyway, And next, the all all the offerings here, all the offering at the at the to Buddha of Great Bliss.

All the offerings Washington, after some, with great bliss, and then the late half of offerings, the with nature with nature with great bliss with nature infinite bliss of our towards all the ten direction Guru Śākyamūni. Generating from. And now we offer the all the offerings, the appearance and the uncommon, the the the towards all the ten direction statue, ten direction. The statues to the scriptures the teachings are what are framed, so to collect the most merit And all the Buddhist relics, there was a different part of the world. The particular the Buddha’s heart teachings.

Teaching heart of the Buddha’s teaching, all the Buddha teachings, the cherished most cherished most by Buddha is present, primary teachings. And this is a teaching that the build path that shows professional wisdom that liberates us sentient beings, say, from oceans and some kind of suffering and cause delusion, karma, all the delusions that are there directly. Make an offering or doing a service to Gurai, it has very important very important benefit to not be separated from guru, also also a guru, and to not be separate to work from bodhicitta, and to to be also with the Buddha. Yeah. To not be separate from Buddha.

You know? You’re also with Buddha. Then to have a freedom to practice Dharma. So it is always important that is then collect incalculable merits. Often, making offering service.

We offer yes. All the offerings, Deer Park and Sarnath, and the exchange offering, the Virgin and Palm Desert, which is naturally the place, then all the other places. We offer then towards all the in India by many of the stupas, which are sacred. And then all the all the expense of the family center and other places offer to all the holy objects in Tibet. Samye Samye monastery, the famous first monastery in Tibet.

But offering all those holy objects, then there’s eight or seven very special benefit unbelievable benefit to pilgrimage places. Okay. We offer the excess offer of the other places In the all the holy objects, to the Stūpa of Boudha, Swayambhunath, he has to offer towards all the holy objects in Nepal. The that which is the fulfilling offering, prayers, and the fulfills all your wishes for that. I know the Boudhanath stupa, there’s two most precious stupa, then all rest of the holy objects in Nepal.

So if there are any gurus in those countries, we’re gonna also make offer to them. I’m having a bit of body. Yes. So next then, next, offer music. So, you know, whatever whatever music, say, any music, whatever music, should offer.

So then we create one extra merit. Offering music, they have their own benefits, temper and ultimate, liberation sometimes, enlightenment. So One can offer a music at the beginning while one blessing the reciting the cloud of mantra. We can do that. And then if it if it didn’t happen at that time, now I can offer.

They turned their section of the offering from the. So same same. How many major how many various different music there is, then you offer even though somebody else is playing music, but you you you it gives you opportunity to offer to offer Then the which was next? The limb practice. We’ll do the next the part of limb practice.

So all the all the negative karmas, yeah, generally, karma, particularly the part of the body, part of the body, part of the body, completely purified. Completely purified. Not even slightest atom that it is in the. Now we rejoice. Rejoice, so I think without merit, there’s no happiness, no success at all.

Even a slight even a small nothing we can do. So the merit is so precious. merit is so precious. So I’ve collected merit. Not a disciple.

I’m beginning to see the burden. So this merit is so precious. How wonderful it is. And and and and and and and from beginning to birth. Wow.

This was so precious. How one how wonderful it is. How wonderful it is. I think that then also all the future merit will require me all the future also. That.

Offering the to stabilize the gurus and then the Buddhist human kind. The next one, a question to the chant Dharma wheel. So the number of teachings says you because of Brahma, after Buddha began to let Brahma request, and then Buddha kept teaching, so therefore, for a special reason, think he has the what’s the Brahma offer the thousand-spoked golden wheel radiating gold, you know. Lam rim offerings. Then make a request for particular purpose.

Mhmm. Get it that in the Chinese. Other than Chinese? So so since the English is not there, the session lecture, it should be translated into Chinese, and it’s very important because this is the guidebook daily for daily meditation. Lamrim is very useful.

That must be translated into Chinese. What the the the the You mentioned name. Okay. You said say you said central letter. You mentioned the name already.

Yeah. So this one, but you I didn’t hear very clearly. This is Yeah. You mentioned it already. Yeah.

So we just vented the vent yeah. It’s the venting to meditate. So I’ll read this. That I have been wondering, that this is to meditate, you know, to feel. I’ve been wondering, circling in this true realm cyclic existence.

I have taken numerous times the body of the hell, hungry ghost and animal and suffer. Think well in this meaning. That’s the one time. From the beginning, this is a birth. You know?

No no beginning. Yeah. Number of time. I am taking this body out to the lower realms and, know, suffer. Number of time.

Remember the suffering as explained the teaching, the hell suffering, hot and cold, hot and cold, major suffering, eight hot hell major suffering, six neighboring sufferings, ordinary or the six neighboring hell sufferings, the ordinary hell sufferings. And then the hungry ghost sufferings, the five types. The the heavy suffering of hunger and thirst, hot and cold, and the disappointment exhaust exhaustness. Remember that. All all those, you see, to get the ideal, how it’s most unbearable.

Animals being extremely full and being eaten by another one. Not only eaten by other animals, but even on top that they’re eaten by human beings. And hot and cold. And then all those all those there and being tortured. Well, all these.

I remember those talking, don’t think it. I have experienced numberless times from beginning of the book, numberless time. Still didn’t still didn’t not didn’t get the end of saṃsāra. Didn’t get the end of saṃsāra. Time to time, even merely a body of the happier realms, even time to time I achieved just the mirror the body of the happier transmigrating being, But the most of it most of it are are born, say, in the time when there’s no teachings, a dark age.

And sometimes, born in the outlying country, the barbarous country, and then I wondered, and those barbarous countries. No Dharma. No understanding Dharma. People have no understanding Dharma. Mhmm.

And then sometimes I was born so this means means even you are born as human being, but then what happens is born was dark, you know, where there’s no Buddha where the where time where Buddha hasn’t descended, you see, a dark age. No no no teaching. Dark age. You know? So no benefit.

What Didn’t have special benefit to a body, maybe in a sense, merely mentally, like an animal. Mhmm. So then, at some time, born in the outlying the barbarous countries, you know, under that, Who that who do not know any teachings and the well, there’s no teach Buddha Buddhadharma. Sometime mhmm. Mhmm.

Was born I say, body is a happy migrator being born in human realm, but born as mute, and mute can’t speak. Mute, and completely mindless, can’t can’t learn anything. You see? So so meditate. Feel this.

Meditate. How how how it is born in dark age? No Buddha. They send to no teachings. Feel that.

So being born dark age, there’s no where there’s no Buddha, there’s no Buddhist teaching. Yeah. So empty, so so sad. Yeah. Very sad.

And born in an outlying country. You see, like, in the in the even now in this world, there are countries where there’s no Dharma at all. In in that in that country, in that cities, in no dharma at all. No. That no one knows.

Totally, total wrong belief, Culture wrong belief. Total wrong view. Doesn’t doesn’t believe reagination, karma, all this. So how it is to be how it is to be like that, like those human beings in the in those in those kind of in those kind of country case. Feel how it is if you are now in the the such a such a country place, become like yeah.

Being like those human beings, yeah, no dharma at all. How it is? It’s so sad, total wrong belief. Totally wasted the human precious precious human body that’s taken Completely, it’s used totally wrong way. Only to creating negative karma, wrong deeds.

Only to to be born in lower realms. Only to be born to cyclic saṃsāra. There’s no idea of next life, the reincarnation, karma, no idea at all. Totally blind. Totally ignorant.

No idea of all the future of the birth of the suffering of the Lord and and suffering of the devil. Totally deceived oneself with all these wrong views. That’s so sad. Then feel and be born as a fool, you know? Nothing you can no understanding.

Any words besides no meaning, can’t like any meaning. Can’t like any words, dharma. Can’t like anything being born full and mute, how it is. Try to feel that. It’s terribly sad.

So it’s very unbearable. So unbearable. And sometimes so you’re never born at the happy, as a higher being, sometimes, but born as a heretical being. So, no opportunity to progress at all. Living the life total wrong being.

Creating only a heavy negative karma. Believing the right path is the wrong path. Heretical doing that thing. There is no feeling, there’s no such thing. There’s no liberation, enlightenment.

Sometimes, there’s met a wrong guide, wrong virtuous friend. So wrong guide, wrong teacher. And a wrong teacher who teach teach you are who mislead, who give you wrong views. It’s right view, wrong views. It’s the right view.

Yeah. karma, reincarnation, have a Four Noble Truths. Bring it to liberation, bring it to enlightenment, bring to enlightenment like that. Then only in the in the lower realm, lower saṃsāra, in some only in the lower saṃsāra, you see. For many ills.

And sometimes, not pure dharma. Everyone knows dharma, but it not pure dharma. This is also a very important point. Born, they have been migrating, but met dharma, but not really pure Dharma. Look look as a lta nang in Tibetan, lta nang, let’s say, chos ltar, we say, not real Dharma, chos is Dharma, not real Dharma, looking like real Dharma.

So it’s a real looking like real Buddhadharma, but actually not. So then, again, there’s this there are these things in the world. So I met like this. So again, sad, totally totally wasted human body. Then sometimes then say, born received happy migrator body but totally ignorant.

So at this time, by the kindness of guru, I am liberated from the fears of the lower realms that I received as a sublime body of human yeah, sublime human body of the southern continent. Then I imagine the see. Born in the fortunate time. Time of the light. With the light of dharma.

Then born in the country where there is holy Dharma. And then not full. In in inside, you see, not full. Mind not full. Perfect organs.

And I found faith in the Dharma, the Dharma. Then I met a guru, like actual Buddha, the perfect Buddha, like like actual Buddha. So, like, I have received teachings. I have received unmistaken I have received unmistaken complete path instruction and have wisdom and have clear wisdom able to discriminate, able to clarify. Insight, I have clear wisdom, able to to discriminate or clarify what is a thing to practice, what is a wrong thing to abandon.

Right thing, what is to be practiced, the wrong thing, what is to be abandoned. And my mind, facing towards the Dharma, holy Dharma. Turned or facing towards the holy Dharma. And I received the perfect condition of food and food and clothings and possessions. Therefore, This perfect body qualified for the Eight Freedoms and Ten Richnesses qualified for Freedoms and Richnesses, the Eight and Ten Dharma.

This I have received. This this person I received have received at this time. And this due to having collected extensive merits in the path. Yeah. So that’s then we’ll see the refuge, the mani mantra.

Okay? That’s it. Yeah. So there’s a in that card, there’s a, you know, the praise and homage prostration. Yeah.

In the front, there’s something. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Front.

Yeah. Back then. Right. Your your front. Yeah.

There’s there’s there’s something to reside there. Yeah. There’s this is in Chinese or English? Chinese. So there’s something to recite.

Can you see? There’s something to recite there, like, prostration to the. There? Yes. Okay.

That will recite there three times. Then you go back side. The. Okay? So Chan mantra.
