About this talk. In this ten-minute teaching from Malaysia, Lama Zopa Rinpoche explains the spiritual purpose and mechanics of a long life puja. He establishes the inconceivable qualities of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, then clarifies that the long life puja benefits not only the teacher but all disciples and followers — it becomes a long life puja for everyone. He describes how requesting long life purifies karma that disturbs the guru’s holy mind, while the torma offering is a particularly powerful method for purifying broken samaya vows and generating realizations of clear light and illusory body. Rinpoche notes that practitioners without highest yoga tantra retreat experience can still use torma offerings to gradually purify obstacles to realization and deepen practice.

Buddha has inconceivable qualities. Dharma has inconceivable qualities, Sangha has inconceivable qualities. And devoting to Buddha, Dharma,, Sangha has also inconceivable qualities. They said they lack they said they said they have an devoting to the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha as they say the inconceivable benefits result happiness. To this pure field, to this pure medical field, I make this offering.
So I forgot to mention before, the long life puja. So this is as often said, this is not only long life puja For me? For this Mickey Mouse. This is also everyone’s long life puja. Also, disciple is a long life puja.
Because how does it become long life? Puja for also disciples. That’s because is well, the question for long, stable life is a part of the seventh day practice, before the sixth one, before the dedication. Requesting for long life. This is an antidote to the negative karma, the heavy negative karma, disturb the guru’s holy mind.
Any negative karma collected with the vajra samaya or any negative karma collected with the guru. So, this practice is requesting for long life. This purifies those heavy negative karma. So, collected this life or in the past lives, so this purifies. As well as yeah.
As well as the also the torma offering is very powerful practice. That one broke Samaya, disintegrated Samaya after having taken initiation. The high tantra initiation and blocks Samaya. You see, disintegrate those Samaya vows, the ones taken during the initiation. So they often talk.
It purifies, it restores, and it hooks the realizations. In particular, kind of realization such as the clear light and illusory body. So which is signified by the Bala and Madhana. Bala is the it hooks the attainment. Illusory body and Madhana, it hooks the realization, clear light.
The two kayas which is Dharma kaya and Rūpakāya. So that the torma offering is a very important practice. Even if we haven’t done a retreat of the highest yoga tantra deity after having received initiation, so cannot do self initiation to purify completely. Vajrasattva mantra recitation, Buddha Shavas, Kangyur reading. But the other thing, other method is a torma offering, which is a powerful practice.
To purify those negative karma, can say, make it possible to see, to receive the realizations. This is how we become long life puja, particular the negative karmas disturbed, you see, negative karma, or the negative karma, the relationship with the guru’s mind. So, this way, then also the disciple has a long life. So, life, so that they’re able to complete, continue practice and able to develop the mind in the path. And able to benefit more of teaching Buddha and certain things.
So everyone, you haven’t got the same rice. So we can share.
