About this talk. In this 48-minute talk from 1984, John Landaw introduces tantra to students, beginning with foundational meditation practice that develops a clear, receptive mind. He explains how basic meditative techniques prepare practitioners for core tantric methods: seed syllable meditation and work with the inner heat. After the opening meditation session, Landaw guides the dedication of practice benefits toward the welfare of all beings and the long life of Tibetan Buddhist teachers. He then walks students through visualization practices emphasizing compassion and sympathetic joy, with specific instruction on generating light at the heart centre, dissolving obstacles into spaciousness, and expanding loving-kindness to encompass ending war and famine. Suitable for those new to tantric Buddhist practice.

Other meditative techniques took place the mind in a clear, receptive, unstructured space. And later on, we’ll see how it fits directly into the seed syllable meditation, the harnessing of the inner heat. So now, this morning began with a certain cultivation and inward motive to be of benefit to both ourselves and others. So now that the meditation has come to a close, we can dedicate whatever positive energy we may have generated for the fulfillment of these wishes, so that all beings, including ourselves, be free of mental and physical suffering and dissatisfaction, And so that those spiritual gods, such as his holy Mr. Dalai Lama, precious MaLhasampa, Geshadhava, Geshadhava, and others may be endowed with long and fruitful lifetimes, and thus may benefit the crease.
In what motivation have I entered this meditation session? There’s nothing else particularly to do. And if our meditation is a base form, seeking reputation in our love, to dissolve into spaciousness and our weight to dissolve into buoyancy. And now planking this shaft of light And with a strong determination and allow the sphere of light at the heart to grow slowly, until our whole being is indistinguishable from this warm, clear, white radiance of light. And as we see the person’s pain dissolve and happiness grow, our own sympathetic joy also grows.
Allow one’s mind love to expand in this life Picture wars ceasing. Famine ending.
