About this talk. In this brief seven-minute talk, Geshe Doga teaches a breathing meditation technique as a practical remedy for anger and mental affliction while continuing his commentary on the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life chapter on patience. He instructs students to visualise white light entering with the breath, carrying the blessings of the Buddhas to purify mental afflictions, and black light leaving to remove unhappiness and negative states. When anger arises strongly, substituting this meditation mind for even one minute can significantly reduce the anger. Geshe Doga emphasizes that our deepest problems are mental rather than material—not issues of food or shelter—and that this simple practice, done for fifteen minutes, can bring complete peace and eliminate the misconceptions underlying mental and physical suffering. The teaching is accessible to practitioners beginning to work with their minds.

So while doing this breathing meditation, you think that while breathing inwardly, you may think that the white ray of light coming, I mean, to your nose with the blessings of the Buddhas and like Buddha, and it purifies all your mental afflictions. And while you while you breathe outwardly, then you may think that the the the black ray of light passing through your nose and it take away all your unhappy mind and such afflictions. So at the moment we are in a very strong anger. Then in the place of anger, if you bring some another mind, then and and if you if you try to keep that mind, keep that that meditation mind for first minute, then this would decrease your that certain amount of your anger. We have we are always having some problem in suffering and used to say I have such great problems, such suffering in all the time.

So but when we really check upon what is the problem of suffering, then that problem is not a problem of livelihood, foods and such shelter. So that is some mental problem. So that problem should be be remedied by some other mental I mean, meditation or mental training. As a remedy to that unhappiness, unhappy mind, mind, then if you do the breathing meditation as just now I have mentioned, then if you do that in a quarter of an hour, then at that moment there’s no chance of such unhappiness mind and there’s complete peace in your mind at that moment. So this would give you certain amount of peace and happiness not only in that period.

When we do the meditation, then we get a certain amount of mental and physical happiness. That is because at that moment calm down our mind and so our mind is not running out in external distractions. So so due to that that controlling our mind, then we get the happiness. So meditation will help you to eliminate your various misconceptions. So we must also know what’s the causes of mental mental and physical peace during the the meditation period?

We we almost try to try to destroy anything which causes us misconceptions and which causes us mental and physical unhappiness.
