About this talk. Amy Miller introduces Counting the Breaths, a foundational meditation technique that calms the mind and reduces anxiety regardless of circumstance. After learning the seven-point meditation posture, practitioners are guided to watch their natural breath and anchor their awareness there, drawing the mind back whenever it wanders. Miller emphasises that this practice is accessible anywhere—while driving, working, or in any emotional state. For newcomers especially, breath meditation often provides the first vivid encounter with how active and circus-like the untrained mind actually is, offering both humility and motivation to continue practice.
